Medium: Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Oil Pastel This is my second work of school year '08 and is for my concentration (posters for Asian artists as if they were debuting in the US). My teacher also did not like this at the beginning, but of all my works photographed she says it looks the nicest. She's still mad I did it on poor quality paper. ("It's your concentration!!") I was having trouble with the colors a lot in this one. I get hung up a lot on color; The colors for me need to be perfect in order for the work to look decent. In the end, I think I got it right with the background. What I think was also unique about this work is that I started out with watercolor, then went into more details and shades with colored pencils. You can see this effect on her skin the most, and it really looks nice. I think it's quicker to do it this method than just with colored pencils alone... I take forever to do colored pencils haha. Miliyah Kato is a Japanese urban singer. I really like her music! And yes, she really IS this skinny. Maybe even skinnier... Back to Artwork |
