I'm Alive!
Hi everyone! I started to notice that I haven't updated TC in foreeevver. I don't know what I'm going to do =P I should just blog here more at least, even if I don't have anything to update with.
I got off my block on artwork and did one oil painting, and working on another. I have to get a picture of that one painting to put up here ASAP =)
Tonight I'm going camping!!! It's prom night, lol. I didn't have time to decide whether or not I was going to go to prom... I was planning to, but then I came to school one day and it's like "prom tickets sell today!" and I still hadn't made up my mind. It's fine though because camping is going to be awesome especially since I'm not going to see my friends when school is over =/ and it basically is over... next week are HSAs and the week after that are senior finals. It was hard to get the stupid tent for camping! I called my neighbor and he was like "I don't know if you want it, my cats pee on it". I was like, wtf?? But it turns out he was thinking of some old tent. So I borrowed his tent. The bad thing is, like the rest of the country, it's raining. It's not supposed to rain tonight but it will be wet. And windy, and kind of chilly. The weather is being so weird...
And could you guess? I started playing World of Warcraft again. They made it easier to level. That reminds me... I was working on a layout for TC months ago featuring WoW. But now that I look at it, it's not really good enough. =P So picky.
I haven't designed a layout in forever! I should really put my skillz back to the test and see what happens. I've noticed some trends in the webdesign community -- kind of grungy stuff with a lot of brushes, and very small banners.
John Adams on HBO was AMAZING. I can't believe how much detail they put into it. They basically recreated colonial Boston and Philadelphia and used green screens for the background... I had no idea it was CGed. The scenes looked so perfect *_* Plus, they chose actors who looked EXACTLY like the real people. And the music was amazing! They're supposed to be working on 1776 now, one of his other books. I can't waaaaaiit for 2010.. too long!
Listen to Coldplay's Viva La Vida too -- wonderful!!!
That reminds me about the music section on TC! I'll have to work more on that... maybe. I don't really like Satomi Takasugi anymore =P Her first two singles were great but her other music was just slow pop.
School is almost over and I'm going to Smith College in the fall. I don't remember if I talked about schools on the earlier entry =P I got into 5 colleges and rejected by 1. I'm really excited. I went to the Smith Open House and sat in on a class, and spent the night! Everyone was really nice but I was sooo shy.
I'm going to the Virgin Islands for a week in June! Except my mom forgot that my job starts the last week of June so I have to fly back home alone a day early... And it's not simple either! I have to take a ferry first to another island, then fly to JFK (NYC), then down to Reagan National (Washington DC). =| Thanks mom..
I think I'm finally going to get my driver's license in the next month! I don't know what kind of car I want. I will probably get a car in the next year -- I don't need one the first year of school. I wanted a Honda Element originally, but now I think I should go for something smaller and fuel efficient. Maybe a hybrid!
You know, I feel very passionately about climate change and energy independence and how it can help our economy. First, opening a new industry would help create jobs. Second, America is really falling behind Europe in technology and science.. an I think this is the sort of thing we need to do to "stay on top". Thirdly, the oil & natural gas industry sucks. They're all corporate interests. Have you seen their ads on tv?? Are they trying to brainwash us?? And finally, we need to get off this dependence on other countries for our oil. Where does our oil come from? The middle east, Venezuela, etc. These countries hold so much power over our economy, and I don't like it =| I mean, look at why we invaded Iraq.. *_*
